Broadfield has a thriving performing arts culture and we are proud to have been appointed Lancashire Lead School for Music.
We have worked closely with Lancashire Music Hub over the past few years in using cutting edge accessible music technology to make music more inclusive for all. Our school has been recognised for our commitment to music education and excellence.
The Autism Accreditation Programme is the UK’s only autism specific quality assurance programme of support and development for all those providing services to autistic people. Achieving accreditation proves that an organisation is committed to understanding autism and offers excellent support to autistic children and adults. Autism Accreditation is an internationally recognised quality standard, and with 30 years of accreditation expertise, the NAS offer the longest running programme in the world.
Outcomes are measured against specific criteria that must be met and demonstrated to achieve the accredited status. Following a thorough assessment during the summer term 2022, the ASD Specialist Accreditation status was reconfirmed at Broadfield School. The certificate is displayed in the main Reception area and our letterhead and signage was also updated with the logo to reflect this.
The full report was shared with staff and governors, outlining key findings from the assessment on how well autistic individuals are supported according to the National Autistic Society’s framework of good autism practice. The report identifies areas of strength and suggested areas of ongoing development for the school. Copies of the full report are also available from the school office on request. The letter below was received to confirm the award which summarises the specific strengths of our school in supporting young people with autism.
