Work Experience
At Broadfield College, Work Experience is a vital and meaningful part of our curriculum, giving learners the opportunity to develop real-world skills, confidence, and independence in supportive, community-based settings.
We believe that hands-on experience is one of the most effective ways for students to prepare for adulthood, employment, and life beyond college.
Our work experience programme is carefully designed to match each learner’s strengths, interests, and goals. Students take part in a range of placements that provide valuable insight into different working environments while building key employability skills such as teamwork, communication, responsibility, and time management.
Learners benefit from a wide variety of placements, including:
- Kiosk at Scott Park- we run our very own café at Scott Park
- Daily ‘Meal Deals’ for students in school, we have now taken over all sandwich orders from the canteen
- Downtown Community Grocery
- Link Café
- Valley Street Community Grocery
- HAPPA (Horse and Pony Protection Association)
- Freshfields
- Olive House Care Home
Work Experience at Broadfield College is more than just the actual experience, it is about building confidence, developing independence, and helping learners discover their potential. Each placement is supported by staff to ensure a positive and successful experience, enabling students to take pride in their achievements and feel prepared for their next steps into employment or further opportunities.
