My name is Mo Banks and I am currently working as the Independent CEIAG at Broadfield Specialist School providing individual Careers/Education Information, Advice and Guidance for students and their families.
I am in school every week, and my main role is to make sure that all students, whatever their level of ability, are aware of all the different options that may be available to them on leaving school. I am in a very privileged position in that I regularly meet the students both in class and on a 1:1 basis to talk to them about their futures, and develop individual Careers Action Plans prior to the year they leave Broadfield School/College to help in the transition process.
As many of the decisions that need to be made involve families, I also attend reviews in years 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 to help parents be able to make an informed choice regarding which post 16 provision would be best placed to support their child, so that they can reach their full potential.
I am available to meet with parents prior to the review meetings, as well as after the actual Review if necessary, to discuss post 16 education in more detail. It is possible to arrange meetings with myself in school in person, virtually via a platform such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Alternatively, I am happy to be contacted via email or for parents to call for an initial telephone conversation.
