When Broadfield School has been named on an EHC plan, we will make arrangements to admit the young person. Pupils with SEND require a greater level of preparation time to ensure a smooth and informative transition. The review and any amendments to the EHC plan must include transition arrangements and allow time to plan for and, where necessary, commissioning of support and provision outlined. Broadfield School must ensure all provision outlined within Section F, G and H is in place prior to commencement of the transition, including, where applicable, a medical care plan.
The review and any amendments, must be completed by 15th February in the calendar year of the transfer at the latest, for transfers into Year 7 on 1st September , OR by the 31st March for post-16 placement.
Where an EHC plan is updated, including where the school has been named in Section I, after these dates, transition to Broadfield School will be completed within a maximum of 13 working school weeks (school holidays not included), which is equivalent to one term, and where possible sooner.
The full ‘Transition Policy’ is available below.
