STEM Week Sparks Curiosity at Broadfield Specialist School.
STEM Week at Broadfield Specialist School this week was bursting with excitement, creativity, and hands‑on learning as pupils explored the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through a packed timetable of activities.
Throughout the week, classrooms transformed into buzzing hubs of discovery. Pupils took part in a wide range of challenges including from building structures and testing scientific reactions to solving real world maths puzzles and exploring new technologies. Each activity encouraged teamwork, problem‑solving and a big dose of curiosity.
One of the highlights was a special Q&A session with a visiting engineer, who shared real insights into what it’s like to work in the world of engineering. Pupils asked brilliant questions about designing machines, solving technical problems and how engineers help shape the world around us. The session inspired many to think about the possibilities of future STEM careers and there was also an engineering design competition for students to enter and have a real prototype created.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and thank you to our visiting engineer for helping make the week unforgettable. Here are some photos of the activities:
