In KS4, students study Religious education for one lesson per week.

Broadfield aims for students to develop and express their own morals and values and purposes. Pupils will also further take part in an independent class study project in the summer terms.
In this topic, pupils study the background and importance of religious festivals including; Easter, Eid
and Holi. Students will come to an understanding of how they are celebrated.
Pupils will study Muslim and Christian places of worship, identifying features, explaining the purposes of places of worship
and will understand the behaviours and actions expected when visiting them.
A key feature in this module is discussions and debates over a range of issues such as abortion, same sex relationships and capital punishment. Furthermore, they will analyse religious and non-religious responses to these issues in order to formulate their own response.
