On Monday 2nd February, our music teacher Mr Hurley led a samba workshop with students from St James School in Clitheroe. Four groups had a day of drumming, learning about the origins of samba, the instruments and how to play rhythms as a group. Parents, carers and the other students of the school were also invited to a performance at the end of the day where the samba superstars were presented with certificates.
The workshop was supported by Lancashire Music Hub and the samba kit was also provided by the music service as a result of becoming a Lancashire Lead School for Music. We are incredibly grateful to LMH for their continued support which makes outreach programs like this possible. We would also like to thank the students and staff from St James for being so welcoming and making lots of noise!
