School Hen Interventions
Our school hens (Peggy & Mabel) continue to spread joy and provide a nurturing environment for our students.
The hens provide a great teaching tool and help with emotional regulation, building confidence in our learners. Peggy and Mabel have settled in well and are becoming more confident around our students enjoying treats and cuddles.
The hens have a new outdoor covered enclosure giving them more space whilst birdflu restrictions are in place, though the risks are low our students are following the strict hygiene guidelines in place using a boot wash before and after visits to keep themselves and the hens safe. Hopefully these restrictions will be lifted soon and the hens and our pupils can enjoy some free ranging in the sun during the summer term.
