Battle Of Hastings

Year 7 have been learning about the Claims and Claimants for England in 1066.

This resulted in Harold Godwinson becoming King. However William of Normandy felt he had more of a claim on the throne. On the 14th October 1066 the Battle Hastings was fought which resulted in King Harold being shot in the eye and killed. William claimed the throne for himself and was coronated in on 25th December 1066 becoming the King of England.
Today our year 7 students have had great fun reenacted the battle of Hastening’s and as you guessed William of Normandy still won !!
