Stadium Tour of Turf Moor at Burnley FC

On Thursday 30th November our WJEC Healthy Living and Fitness students were privileged to take part in a Stadium Tour of Turf Moor at Burnley FC. Tee Ball Tournament at Sir Tom Finney Community High School

On Monday 27th November six of our College students attended a Tee Ball tournament at Sir Tom Finney Community High. The students participated in the competition against other SEN schools and colleges such as Hillside Specialist School, Cardinal Newman College, Mayfield Special School and Red March Special School. New Independent Living Area

Students are now able to access our new Independent Living area, which was partly funded by the ASDAN Grants Programme. As part of their accreditation work, Mrs Heppleston’s Transition Challenge group have been working hard to furnish and equip the room. This will be an ongoing project which gives our students the opportunity to develop and practise independent life skills in a realisitc setting.  more »

GCSE Art Trip to Tate Liverpool

On Wednesday,15th November, the GCSE art group visited Tate Liverpool art gallery to see the work of Roy Lichtenstein. Shakespeare for Schools

Macbeth – The Shakespeare Schools’ Festival 2017 For the fifth year, students from Broadfield Specialist School, took part in The Shakespeare Schools’ Festival.  This year their chosen play was a musical abridged adaptation of Macbeth.  Using Shakespeare’s original language, the students chose which lines would tell the story in the most understandable way.  Music was chosen for mood and effect and with an aim more »

London and Windsor Residential

On 16th November a group of ten students and three staff travelled on a three night  residential trip to London and Windsor. Brickhouse Farm Residential

On 13th November four students and two staff took part in a four night residential trip to Brickhouse Farm Cottages near Poulton le Fylde. The group visited St. Anne’s and Blackpool as well as taking part in a pottery painting workshop and visiting the theatre to see the Blackpool School’s Dance Festival. Student Visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau

Over half term two FE college students visited Poland. The two students were Hawwaa Butt and Tyler Preece. They were accompanied by Mr Mills. The reason for the visit was to gain an invaluable experience into what life was like in the concentration and death camps of World War two. Clitheroe Residential

On 23rd October four students and two staff took part in a two night residential trip to Clitheroe. The trip included lunch at The Waddington Arms, Dinner at The Emporium, a visit to the cinema and a full day trip to Salford Quays to visit The Imperial War Museum and watch a show at The Lowry Theatre.
